Redness, Flushing and Rosacea Treatments

Rosacea is a non-contagious, inflammatory skin condition that mainly affects the central portion of the face. It is characterised by the appearance of facial flushing and erythema (redness) due to the enlargement of superficial capillaries (blood vessels) in the skin.

What can we do to treat it?

It is important to avoid known trigger and work on the skins protective barrier function using daily products such as jojoba oil, anti-inflammatory serums and moisture to protect and nourish. The more support this function has, the better the condition is managed.

What causes rosacea/redness/flushing?

The causes of rosacea are multi-factorial, involving a combination of:

  • An overactive immune system
  • Genetic disposition
  • Micro-organisms
  • Environmental factors including UV

Triggers may vary from person to person
